Saturday, April 25 will be the last scheduled Mobile Food Pantry at HSBC. Please see the notice below from the Bood Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri:
In case you missed it, the Hamilton Street Baptist Church Mobile Market is retiring after a final distribution on Saturday, April 25. We are so grateful for the many volunteers who helped make the Mobile a success and shared food with neighbors when need was higher than brick-and-mortar pantries could meet. While endings can be bittersweet, the retiring of a Mobile Market is actually cause for celebration as it means The Food Bank’s network of area partners is helping meet existing need.
The Food Bank always works to help communities move toward more stable brick-and-mortar pantries, rather than Mobiles, whenever possible. Pantries are typically able to share more food – and more nutritious food – than Mobile Markets, and many provide shoppers the dignity of choice. That means you may have the option to pick the foods you take home for you and your family.
If you’ve attended the Mobile Market in the past and need food again, we encourage you to visit Pantry for Adair County, The Community Mission, Salvation Army or other Adair County partners that work with The Food Bank. You can find a partner agency near you at sharefoodbringhope.org/food-locator.
